Question by Sam L: Did I get the wrong type of tires?
I live in CA where there is really no ice or snow. However, recently, I noticed that my tires say “M/S”, mud and snow. I don’t recall ever requesting tires rated for mud and snow. Does that designation only mean it is capable on mud and snow, but is intended for normal everyday use? How do you distinguish REAL snow tires from just “M/S” tires. What are the negative consequences, if any, of using snow tires on regular roads (reduced gas mileage, wear out quicker)?

the tires have the potential to wear out quicker and it does make your gas milage go down but your traction goes it should do fine
