Question by chimpdaddyflex: Best wheel hubs for an XJ?
Is there a better wheel hub/bearing then “Timken” ? Im running 35×12.5×15 mud tires and I need something strong. I keep blowing wheel hubs like every three to four months ( cheap Auto Zone brand, “Duralife”..yeah whatever ). I have been looking at the Timken hubs but just want to know if there is a better one made for off road use. Thanks

Timken is about the best you can get in bearings but doesn’t your front Dana 30 have a sealed “unit bearing”? I didn’t think you could service the bearings individually? If you can then look for the Timken bearings, if not you’ll need to replace the whole unit bearing; I’ve included a link below for the cheapest ones I’ve seen but as mentioned – Timken’s are better! I’ve also included a link to an online writeup on how to replace the hub assembly!
